Engineers to run the London Marathon for RedR-IHE

Ten runners from across the construction industry are on track to raise at least £10,000 this Sunday when they tackle the Flora London Marathon in support of RedR-IHE.
Runners from Benaim, Cundall, ACE, Bradbrook Consulting, Emap Construct, ICE and Mott MacDonald will face the 26.2 mile course around central London to raise money for the charity involved in humanitarian and disaster relief programmes around the world.Seasoned marathon runner and ACE communications and public affairs director Andy Walker said: 'The work of RedR-IHE is vital in relieving suffering in disaster areas, both natural and man-made, around the globe. I'm proud to be running the marathon for such a worthy cause.'RedR-IHE has provided experts to over 2,500 relief missions and has developed an extensive training programme and runs courses worldwide. In 2006 it trained 4,428 aid workers at 241 events in 12 different countries.Readers can support the efforts of the runners through sponsorship, by visiting or the runners' individual just giving pages.
