Engineering firms in decommissioning JV

Offshore Oil Platform

A group of four engineering firms led by Costain have teamed up to form a joint decommissioning business called Integrated Decom.

The firms involved are Costain, consultants Axis Well Technology, BMT Cordah and DNV GL. The venture will provide services to oil and gas operators looking to retire redundant facilities.

“The companies within Integrated Decom bring complementary, critical technical skills which are required to plan and deliver compliant and cost effective decommissioning. This unique combined knowledge ensures that every solution will be considered in a comparative assessment process, delivering a lower risk and cost decommissioning outcome for owners and stakeholders,” said Costain’s sector director for oil and gas Frazer Mackay.

BMT Cordah is an environmental consultancy specialising in oil and gas and DNV GL is a Norwegian firm providing technical and risk assessments and management.
