Energy minister Brian Wilson

Energy minister Brian Wilson has announced funding of £1.67M to develop the world's first ever floating power station.

It will turn wave power from the ocean into megawatts for the national grid. The machine is expected to be launched next summer from a new marine testing facility to be built in Orkney and it is hoped it will provide enough electricity for 1,400 homes.
