More extreme weather is predicted in the future and I wonder if any guidelines have been prepared for design criteria such as flood return periods or maximum daily rainfall to help analysis of UK or other country records.

I am working in a country where reliable meteorological and hydrological data are sparse and it has not been possible to identify any trends.
