EG name change

Elletari Geotechnica has changed its name to EGTechnology, which commercial managing director Raffaele Savi says is a reflection of the international nature of the drilling and soil improvement equipment manufacturer. Along with the name change, the company's rigs have also been relabelled into three new ranges: VD, MD and TD.

The MD range comprises multipurpose drilling rigs that can carry out mini piling, jet grouting, drill and blast as well as anchor and tie bar installation.

Vertical drilling rigs in the VD range are capable of drilling up to 36m in a single pass and handling up to 72m of rods, and can be fitted up to three masts. The final range, the TD tunnelling rigs, include some of the largest machines and have been used across Europe on the Italian high speed railways and on the Lisbon metro.

The company has moved to new premises to allow further growth, mainly in the export market, which makes up around 95% of its business, mainly across Europe, the US and the Far East.
