EdF begins Sizewell C nuclear plant consultation

Energy firm EdF has begun consultation on the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Sizewell C in Suffolk today.

Over the next eleven weeks local residents can resprods to EdF plans to construct a two new nuclear reactors on its site.

Proposals include its rail, sea and road transport strategy including park and ride sites, accommodation for workers, and the socio-economic effects of the power station construction.

“We are looking forward to talking to people in the local communities in Suffolk and with other stakeholders about our proposals,” said EdF Energy nuclear new build director of planning and external affairs Richard Mayson.

EdF wants to construct two European Pressurised Reactors on its Sizewell C site creating about 5,600 construction jobs.
