Eco friendly site huts launched

Specialist supplier Garic has launched what it claims to be the “greenest” site hut on the market. The Eco Armadillo unit is powered by solar PV cells backed up by a bespoke 12V generator.

Customers who have tested the new unit - including the Highland Heritage organisation in the Shetland Islands - found that it produces 80% less CO2 than a standard 240V diesel-powered unit and reduces fuel costs by up to £150 a week.

The Eco Armadillo includes hot running water in the toilets, motion sensor activated LED lighting, thermostatic heating and autofrost winter protection.

There is also an instant hot water facility that gives boiling water at the push of a button.

It also features anti-vandal door locks and shutters, a hydraulic chassis to lower it to the ground, and fully lockable steel tow hitch cover.
