'Our 17km contract is now 90% complete and the main work in progress is laying the track base and sub-ballast, ' says Bernard Boothroyd, 330 contract manager for CTRL designer and project manager Rail Link Engineering.

'New slip roads at Junction 2 of the M2, built to accommodate CTRL and the M2/A2 widening scheme, have been built and the new A228 bridge spanning the railway and M2 is also complete.'
