Duo to update Brunel-designed Paddington station roof

Morgan Sindall and Colas Rail have won a prestigious project at Paddington Station in London.

The joint venture will refurbish the west London station’s Isambard Kingdom Brunel-designed, Grade I listed roof spans one to three under a £20M deal with Network Rail.

The project will improve the internal appearance and environment of the station and extend the service life of the roof.

Work will include steelwork strengthening and repairs to the original wrought iron structure and decorative scrolls as well as an upgrade of the lighting system.

The project is due to start this month and be completed by January 2016.
