Drill alliance

Boart Longyear and Layne Christensen Company have agreed a reciprocal strategic global drilling products alliance for the mineral exploration, environmental and geotechnical drilling industries.

Boart Longyear will become the manufacturer of consumable drilling products (except diamond products) for Layne Christensen, while Layne Christensen in turn will manufacture surface core drilling equipment (rigs and pumps) for Boart Longyear, This alliance will allow distinct and separate sales and technical support organisations, explains Gerry Foster of, vice president of sales and marketing, Boart Longyear Americas region.

It is envisaged that the existing line of drills currently offered by both companies will be merged.
