Dishonourable discharge

I read your article on the CTRL dewatering (NCE 6 September) with interest and was astonished that those responsible for this project are seriously contemplating discharging to waste 500litres/sec of 'close to potable standard' water.

The local water company, Essex & Suffolk, was to undertake a feasibility study last year. Known as Watertrack, the study was to look into the use of this water, both from permanent dewatering of the Stratford Station box and temporary dewatering of the tunnel construction. I would be interested to know why the scheme was eventually rejected.
