Over 50 sailing dinghies have already signed up to enter the Construction Industry Regatta 2005, which this year takes place on 17 June on Rutland Water.

With no limit on entry numbers, organisers hope to see a record fleet - possibly as many as 200 boats - competing for a range of awards and prizes. The event is open to all craft with a registered Portsmouth Yardstick handicap and will consist of three races, with the best two counting towards the final placings. Sponsors Roger Bullivant, Cunningham Lyndsey and Gunite will present prizes for the best individual and best team performance, plus the best helm over 45 years of age. Contact jonathanadams@pickeverard. co. uk or on (0116) 223 4400 for details and entry forms.
