Recent discussion in NCE about sustainable construction prompted a leading consultant to reveal this tale. A boy's boarding school decided to ban baths, removing taps and plugs to make them use the over-bath showers instead - to conserve power and water and, no doubt, to cut the utility bills. The boys simply concocted do-ityourself plugs and ran the showers until the baths filled up. The school responded by installing time limiters on the showers so the water only ran for a few minutes.
