Devolving power from Westminster

Letters

With regards to the item on the Australian Solar Tower (NCE 22/29 August), what a fantastic piece of 'ingen(uity)'eering. I hope this is given public approval and goes to construction.

Is there no way that this concept could be used to cool the London Underground system? Surely with the temperatures rising below ground and a large tower somewhere around Westminster, all that hot air generated must be useful for something.

John Allen, Parkman, 307-317 Euston Road, London NW1 3AD
