Demolition wins ICE East photo competition

This photograph by Tony Marsh showing the demolition of a bridge over the M1 is the winner of ICE East of England region’s first ever annual photography competition.

Entrants were asked to submit photographs which could be used to showcase civil engineering to a wide audience. Submissions were divided into three categories, physical achievement, sustainability and technical excellence/ innovation. A panel of five judges, including three professional photographers, independently scored the entries. Second place went to Bogdan Tutoveanu for his photograph of urban regeneration in central Ipswich. Third place was shared between three entries.
