Democracy does not end with elections

Letters

I applaud Roger Sainsbury for having the integrity to resign from the Institution.

Sainsbury has served the Institution over many years and his resignation shows his depth of feeling over the way the current Council is running the Institution.

The issue is not a single class of membership but whether Council is properly conducting the Institution's business.

Democracy does not end with elections. Being elected does not give the members of Council the right to do whatever they want. They must still work within their terms of reference.
