Cyber visitors

Civil engineers not fortunate enough to be able to attend Civils 98 will still have the chance to visit the show from anywhere in the world through the exhibition's own web site.

Both Civils 98 and Pipelines 98 have had a presence on the Internet since the start of the year. The site will continue to be posted after the show and will concentrate on the exhibition for at least a couple of months after it ends on 21May.

The web sites provide a virtual guide to all that is happening at both shows. This includes:

Products and services: ranging from engineering consultants and bridge bearings to pump hire.

Exhibitors: An A-Z of exhibitors plus telephone numbers. Some exhibitors also list their own Internet site addresses, providing more information on what services and products they

offer.

Seminars: Over 80 seminars will be held at Civils 98. The 50-minute events haven been organised by the New Civil Engineer editorial team and the Pipeline Industries Guild.

Special Events: from live demonstrations of the latest in military bridge-building by the Royal Engineers to a special seminar series by consultant Maunsell.
