Cuts no ICE

Letters

NCE's ongoing Stop the Transport Cuts campaign includes a mixture of road and public transport schemes.

However, the pro-road supporting comments are unsustainable in 2004.

In the M74 article (NCE 18 March) an ICE spokesman dismissed environmental concerns offhand. In the plea for the A303 upgrade (NCE 29 April) the argument that motorists should use public transport is dismissed as 'pointless'.

Such careless statements will only perpetuate an antiquated, road-obsessed image of NCE/ICE.
