Crying shame

Letters to the Editor

What a superb letter from Mark Hardisty (NCE last week). I laughed until I cried.

It also made me realise just how ashamed I should be. I shall see if I can change my job title from principal traffic engineer as soon as possible.

Of course, it does leave me with the embarrassment of some of my qualifications, such as my degree in civil engineering and masters in transport planning and engineering.

I wonder if Mark's attitude, and people like him, has anything to do with why engineers (sorry, 'wannabe window cleaners') like me leave the ICE, despite the assurances that we are the type of people they want to have, rather than just those that love rebar and formwork?

Clean your windows, Guv'nor?
