There will be nine vacancies in November for one Fellow, four Members (CEng), two Members (IEng) or Associate Members and one Technician Member. The remaining vacancy may be filled by either a Fellow or a Member.
ICE president Mark Whitby plans this year to reform the role of Council, ridding it of its administrative function to allow it to tackle construction's big issues (NCE 8 November 2001). So it could be a challenging job.
For nomination forms and full details, contact the Council office (020) 7665 2077 or e-mail council@ice. org. uk.
All candidates require five sponsors and must signify their willingness to stand. Nomination forms must be returned to the Council office by 19 March.
All members elected will serve for three years from November.
Territorial members of Council, representing local associations in the East Midlands, Midlands, Northern Counties, South East and Wales, will also be retiring. There will be separate ballots to elect their successors. Local associations have already been asked to nominate candidates.
