Council orders householder to shift home-made cliff stabilisation

A BITTER row erupted last week between Thanet District Council and a local pensioner who carried out unauthorised engineering work at the foot of his cliff top garden Council officials ordered retired builder Bernard Baldwin to restore the cliff face at Pegwell bay near Ramsgate to its original state after he dumped 100t of chalk at the cliff top in May.
