Costain wins Manchester and Heathrow airport contracts

Costainhas been awarded two airport contracts at Manchester and Heathrow.  

The first is an £18.6M contract, as principal contractor, to refurbish Manchester airport’s main runway, Runway 1, under an existing Framework agreement.

The Runway 1 Project will continue through to September 2011 and the airport will remain operational 24 hours a day during the runway closures period by using the 2nd runway.

Costain has also been appointed by BAA as one of the suppliers for the Local Project Integrator (LPI) at London Heathrow. The contract, which is anticipated to have a value of approximately £8M per year, will run for up to four years and will commence in March 2011.
