Costain is to work on an £84M gas terminals project in Cumbria.
The company will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the Centrica Energy scheme in Barrow.
The scheme is designed to boost gas processing in the East Irish Sea, and allow compliance with future environmental legislation.
Work is due to complete at the end of next year.
Costain chief executie Andrew Wyllie said: “The Barrow Gas Terminals provide enough gas to meet the demand for 1.5M homes in the UK, and are key to securing the nation’s future energy needs.
“Having previously provided Centrica Energy with front end consultancy for its terminals project, we are now delighted to build on our five-year collaboration with the company with this further contract.”
