Contractor Aarsleff announces UK restructure

Denmark-based contractor Aarsleff has announced that it is to expand its business in the UK with the addition of a sewer relining division to the existing piling operation.

According to a company announcement, the decision was necessary due to the “extremely hard trading due to the global economic recession” in the last three years.

Director Chris Primmet said that the aim of the board level restructure was to make the operation more global and in addition to the direct offering of piling and sewage work, the company would also offer construction services to the UK market.

“Aarsleff’s speciality is in marine work and with the next generation of wind farm projects there will be a lot of port development needed in the next few years,” explained Primmet.

Under the restructure, managing director Terry Bolsher has stood down after 18 years with the company. Primmet will run the day to day business in the UK.
