Consultants lose DBFO checking

CONSULTANTS ARE likely to lose out on lucrative Highways Agency commissions following a major reorganisation of design, build, finance and operate roads projects.

An Agency spokesman confirmed this week that following a secret review prepared in advance of the next tranche of DBFO roads, the technical checking role of consultants would be largely taken over by Agency staff.

Consultant Halcrow completed the review in March this year. It has since been approved by the Agency.
