Constructors Liaison Group report on the Housing Grants

Up to 96% of contracts do not have an adequate payment mechanism and 51% contain non-compliant adjudication provisions, according to a Constructors Liaison Group report on the Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996. The report also shows that payment is over two weeks late on 44% of jobs. The CLG is pushing the Government for a review of the law surrounding construction contracts. The report is available from the CLG, price £50. Tel (020) 7313 4819.
