CONSTRUCTION'S SAILING enthusiasts descended on Grafham Water Sailing Club in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire last week for the 10th Maunsell Construction Industry Regatta.

The event was dominated by Paul Ravenhill, a self employed consultant and his crew Christine Gusford who found the light and gusty conditions perfect for their International 14 class dinghy. In close racing between the 70-strong fleet, the pair won all three races to scoop the individual trophy. Ravenhill also picked up the ICE President's trophy for best over 45 year old sailor.

Geotextile manufacturer GeoFabrics and Anders Glaser Wills sponsored the event and cheered competitors with a hearty lunch and beers afterwards.

Last year's winner Dan Alsop and his crew Stuart Aston pulled in second overall despite missing the first race due to being held up in traffic. Steve Fisher of recruitment consultant Anders Glaser Wills and his crew 'Pasty' came in third.

The Maunsell team trophy was won by Joynes Pike Consultants.
