Construction sets out its stall

News :

The objective of National Construction Week (NCW) is simple: to attract the best of British youth to consider a career in the construction industry. The ICE is working with NCW organisers - the Department of Trade & Industry and the Construction Industry Council - to help achieve this.

On Friday pupils from five London schools will set off from the ICE on a treasure hunt around some of the city's major construction sites, driven by cash prizes for themselves and their schools.

Other events during the week include the opening of the £8M Advanced Technology Centre at Stourbridge College, inauguration of the £4M Building Craft College in East London, launch of the National Construction College in Glasgow, and Bob the Builder's scheme to rebuild playgrounds.
