Construction output rises

Construction output rose by a seasonally adjusted £180M in the first three months of this year, official data has revealed.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed the industry produced 0.6% more in Q1 2014 than in Q4 2013.

Output was 5.4% higher in the first three months of this year than in the same period last year.

Infrastructure output grew by 13% from February to March, following a 6% rise from January.
