Construction New Year Honours led by Rogers


STANHOPE DIRECTOR and former Constructing Excellence chairman Peter Rogers topped the list of 30 construction industry figures named in the Queen's New Year Honours.

Rogers was awarded a CBE for services to the construction industry as did former Building Research Establishment construction director Professor Haig Gulvanessian.

ICE Wales vice-president and Alun Griffiths Contractors managing director Alun Griffiths was meanwhile awarded an OBE for services to the construction industry and to the community in Wales.

John Doyle Group chairman Stef Stefanou was also awarded an OBE, as was East Sussex County Council director of transport and environment Bob Wilkins and Highways Agency team leader Gary Stockbridge.

Major James Fernandes of the Royal Engineers and Tube Lines distribution services manager Peter Forsdick were awarded an MBE.
