Construction insolvencies continue

A total of 278 construction companies became insolvent last month, a report has revealed.

The Experian Business Insolvency Index showed that almost one in 500 businesses in the sector failed in June 2012.

The number of insolvencies was down 6.1 per cent from the same month a year earlier, exactly in line with the all-sector UK average.

Across all sectors, Yorkshire and the North East saw the highest proportion of business failures.
