Connell Mott MacDonald sets up security management arm

CONSULTANT Connell Mott MacDonald (CMM) is setting up a special safety, risk management and security group in response to growing demand worldwide, NCE has been told.

Based in Perth, Australia, the new group will bring together at least 30 experts drawn from Mott MacDonald in Britain, Hatch Mott MacDonald in the United States and Connell Wagner in Australia.

The team will also include one anti-terrorism expert with extensive experience in Northern Ireland.

CMM managing director John Leuchars denied that the move came as a direct response to the 11 September tragedy.

'We've been very active in these areas for more than 10 years, especially risk assessment and management, ' he said.

'What we've done now is to combine our existing security business with risk management and associated specialties. This is all part of our specialisation strategy and a response to the market's needs.'
