Concrete contract for 'Walkie Talkie' awarded

Southall based PC Harrington Contractors has been awarded the concrete contract for the substructure of 20 Fenchurch Street office development, known as the Walkie Talkie.

Canary Wharf Group awarded the contract, however the terms of contract have not been disclosed.

Starting this month, PC Harrington will pour 28,000m3 of concrete into the building’s foundations, supported by 6,000t of steel reinforcements. The largest single pour is about 2,300m3.
