COMMONS TOUCH: Politicians and engineers gathered at the Institution of Civil Engineers' annual House of Commons terrace reception in London in July. Among those present were the ICE's Russian representative, Dr Mikhail Lachinov (left), and Professor Alexander Zabegayev, professor at Moscow State University (right), on an engineering delegation visit hosted by ICE President Sir Joe Dwyer (centre) to discuss closer links with the ICE. The Russians met more than 40 key politicians, including transport minister John Spellar. Event sponsor MP Tom Cox highlighted politicians' desire for better contact with the ICE.
