Cloud's silver lining?

I was interested to read that NCE Graduate of the Year Lucy Penman recently met construction minister Nigel Griffiths to discuss '. . . how she would promote engineering to more young people.'

Having read the earlier doom and gloom in Antony Oliver's editorial '?the next few years are going to be tough for civil engineers and construction professionals in the UK', I wondered if the minster gave Lucy any advice on how she might persuade young people to enter our profession?

What engineer would persuade their child to go into our industry with such lean times ahead? Good luck Lucy, you will certainly need it.
