Civils show

The UK's two largest construction industry exhibitions, Civils and Interbuild, have joined forces for a giant combined show at Birmingham's NEC in May.

Civils was launched in 1998 and its success with exhibitors and visitors means that this year's show will be more than a third larger. Civils 2000 is to be complemented through links directly into Interbuild's structural building section.

The four-day exhibition is attracting a broad cross-section of leading consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers. There is strong interest from civils clients, said marketing manager Sally Devine. Huge demand for space means nearly 5,000m2 exhibition space is now booked.

Interbuild organisers also reported strong demand for space, with 85% now booked. Interbuild's pulling power has been increased by making it a 'one stop shop,' said sales director Steve Stanek.
