Civils 2006 to host Infrastructure Forum launch

Constructing Excellence is to launch a new body, the Infrastructure Forum, at Civils 2006 this Thursday.
It will be the only forum in the industry representing the entire civil engineering, transportation and utilities sector.'We believe we can take the function of an independent think tank and stand for clients and suppliers working together for the good of the industry,' said Constructing Excellence chief operating officer Don Ward.Unlike other trade bodies this is cross party and cross industry, representing contractors, clients and the people. Our agenda will be strategic, we dont want to focus too hard on nuts and bolts.' said forum chairman Andrew McNaughton.The forum will have 5 key objectives. To ensure long term strategic planning in the industry; improve supply chain integration and procurement; tackle people and skills shortages; tackle waste and encourage innovation.It is not late to attend Civils 2006, whcih runs from today to Thursday at London Olympia.
