CIC launches a Brexit digest for members

EU flags

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has launched a Brexit news digest for its members.

The brief will round-up the latest news and views on the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, and the impact on the built environment professions.

CIC hopes that the digest will prevent misunderstandings around key issues.

At a meeting on Wednesday (3 August), CIC agreed to support Sir John Armitt and ICE in their working groups and policy discussions about the Brexit. CIC also agreed to support initiatives by the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Association for Consultancy and Engineering, Royal Institute of British Architects and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

“In the five weeks since the referendum, the leading professional bodies have been pro-active in providing policy leads and briefings on the likely impact of Brexit. CIC can add value to that activity by supporting emerging consensus policy lines; acting as the hub for sharing information; and using the extensive network of the professional bodies to gather data and information,” said CIC chief executive, Graham Watts.
