Potentially hazard- ous levels of chromium have been identified in soils, surface water and groundwater across the Rutherglen and Cambus- lang areas of Glasgow. The contamination arises from the historical use of process waste, originating from a former chemical works, as backfill and make-up across south east Glasgow. The sites are therefore amenable to an integrated regional approach to remediation.
