Channel Tunnel Rail Link Section 2

Dutch contractor Cobeton has been setting a cracking pace laying the concrete track bed and walkways within Channel Tunnel Rail Link Section 2 tunnels from Dagenham to St Pancras.

The Moxy Paver makes three passes through the tunnel as it forms the concrete flat bed and walkways on either side of the tunnel ahead of track-laying, signalling and electrification work. Work this month is focused on Contract 240 (pictured) between Stratford and Manor Park, and Contract 250 between Manor Park and Dagenham. Cobeton is achieving a daily production rate of 600-850m and completed one pass of the 4.7km long Contract 240 up-line in just eight days. It will move onto Contract 220 between Stratford and King's Cross in July.
