CDM claried

With regard to your item on the new CDM 2007 regulations (NCE, 29 March), I have been informed that all projects transfer with immediate effect on 6 April. Your item states existing projects have a veyear transfer period. Can this be claried?

Stephen Burns, Asher Associates, Stephen. burns@ asherassociates. co. uk All projects will have to abide by the new regulations from the date they are enforced, but principal contractors and CDM co-ordinators will have a transition period of one year to gain condence, while clients' agents employed on existing projects will have five years.
