The CBI has announced the appointment of Steve Hindley as the new chairman of its construction council, replacing outgoing John McDonough.
Hindley is a civil engineer and chairman of Midas group, a medium-sized independent property services provider.
He succeeds McDonough, chief executive of Carillion, who is stepping down after three years in the poisition.
The construction council was formed in 2008 to represent construction, contracting, civil engineering, materials suppliers, house building, design, and support services.
The CBI also introduced four new members to the council from Cemex, Clegg Group, Leadbitter Group, and The Mactaggart & Mickel Group.
