Intermat Preview

Caterpillar and its French dealer Bergerat Monnoyeur Travaux Publics are using the Intermat 2000 exhibition to show more than 35 models from the Cat range including 12 new or improved machines making their first public appearance in Europe.

One of the major attractions will be the new Cat skid steer loader range. Completing the company's Compact Products line, the new range initially comprises four models in the 600kg to 900kg class.

The extensive range of Cat wheel loaders is represented by the 137kW to 198kW class 950G and 972G, and the new 924G. Powered by an 85kW Cat diesel engine, this features a load-sensing hydraulic system and the VersaLink linkage, first seen on Cat compact wheel loaders.

Important additions to the Cat excavator line are the 7.7t 307B and 19.5t 318B. The 307B features a new swing boom that allows it to excavate alongside walls and buildings.

The 318B brings Caterpillar's offering in the 17t to 22t excavator class to three models. Other Cat excavators at Intermat include a 65t class 365B that makes a good loading match for match for 32t to 40t payload hauling units like the Cat D400E Series II articulated truck - also on display; a 21t M320 MH material handler equipped with a scrap grab; and a 90/100t class 5080 equipped with a super long demolition boom.

Caterpillar compaction products are represented by the 15t class CS-583D vibratory soil compactor, and four models of vibratory asphalt compactor.

Caterpillar completes its Intermat 2000 exhibit with two models from the Cat backhoe loader line; a TH63 telescopic handler equipped with a swivel man basket; a 19t class 963C track-type loader; and a Cat D6R.
