Cat focuses on redevelopment

Growth in the demolition and brownfield recycling market has led US plant manufacturing giant Caterpillar to focus development of its machines away from traditional excavation roles.

Instead emphasis is now being given to developing a range of so-called 'work platforms' specially designed not only for digging holes, but also for carrying increasing variety of specialised Attachments such as steel shears, grabs and concrete crushing tools.
