Cash for EU transport schemes

The Department for Transport has asked for bids to build 'Motorways of the Sea' in the North Sea region to connect Britain with Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.
Bidders have been asked to come up with proposals by 15 October for multi modal transport services between EU member states that can provide an alternative to the car.Winning proposals will be eligible for £209 million of cash for 'sea related infrastructure projects in ports'. By December, DfT will decide which projects will be taken forward as bids for the European Commission's Trans European Network programme.Go to:
