Case history: Contractor

'Before doing anything else I looked at the weather forecast for Saturday using the link with the Met Office - thank goodness it should be dry so we should be able to get the work finished.

I then checked my email - in our small company we've now all signed up and have addresses like john@constructionplus.net. We've also got a simple little company website there too, which helps those of us on site keep in touch.

A supplier of a small but vital component had let us down and I needed to find someone fast. The products directory gave me two local firms that would help, though one firm I had expected to find isn't in there.

While in NCE Plus, I looked at today's news - and saw that Bloggs & Co have just won the contract for the new supermarket across town. That explains the job advert I saw online yesterday - we'll have to guard against poaching.'
