Carlbury landslip funding secured

Darlington Borough Council has secured £2.44M from the government’s Pinch Point Funding to undertake stabilisation work on the A67 which was closed by a landslip in February this year.

The funding will be topped up by Darlington Borough Council and Northumbrian Water to provide the £4M needed to carry out repairs to the 387m section of embankment.

The council has said that work on repairs will start in May 2014 and further ground investigation is likely to be carried out in January to provide detailed design information.
