Carillion wins M56 bridge reconstruction job

Carillion has won a £32.M contract to demolish and rebuild the M56 Bowden View bridge, south west of Altrincham.

The bridge, a two span post tensioned segmental deck structure with a skew angle of approximately 48 degrees, is deemed to be beyond economical repair.

The Highways Agency has awarded Carillion the contract on the basis of its tender being the most economically advantageous in terms of quality and price, with a 70:30 weighting applied in favour of quality.
