Carillion starts on £125M Dubai project

Carillion has started work on a fresh £125M phase of the Dubai Trade Centre District.

Joint venture Al Futtaim Carillion (AFC) is the main contractor on the 178,000m2 development, which includes two office blocks of eight and 12 storeys.

The construction site is between Dubai’s main convention centre and Emirates Towers.

Carillion chief executive Richard Howson said: “We are delighted to have been selected for the second phase of this major development in Dubai, where we continue to see more opportunities.”

Work is expected to be completed in by the third quarter of 2017. It follows on from a £50M contract awarded to AFC from the Dubai World Trade Centre back in 2014, which is now near completion.
