UK ENVIRONMENTAL consulting group Casella this week clinched a deal to buy Carillion's in-house environmental business Stanger. The acquisition, believed to be worth £3M, gives Casella/Stanger a combined annual turnover of £20M.
The new group hopes to achieve £30M turnover by the end of the next financial year and to beat the environmental consulting market's 15% a year growth rate through further, organic, expansion.
A spokesman for Carillion said the sale was part of its push to consolidate core contracting activities. Stanger will continue to work on Carillion's environmental performance improvement programme.
